"The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend...."
Genevieve graduated with a master's degree from Global Awakening Theological Seminary and is pursuing her doctorate in theology. As such, she is trained in both the Word and the Spirit, and having a thriving Spirit-filled community has been on Genevieve's heart since she moved to Canmore in 2019. Faith for Gateway Church Canmore came through a prophetic word that God would move strategically in specific geographic locations in Canada and that He would start in the Rocky Mountains. This struck the heart of Genevieve, and she has been pursuing the building of a Canmore Spirit-filled church since then. After the Lord brought Genevieve together with key friends in Canmore, a Spirit-filled and equipping church started to became a reality. We are growing and eager to see God move in the Bow Valley!
We believe Jesus is God's Son and the Eternal King of the Universe, who created everything. By him and through him, all things exist and have meaning (Rom. 11:36).
We believe that God's kingdom is everlasting and expanding today (Matt. 13:31-32). Jesus rules from his throne while we enforce his victory here on earth by sharing the gospel and seeing people saved. When a believer repents the Holy Spirit regenerates them and will participate in the final resurrection and experience eternal life.
We believe that expanding the kingdom also includes praying for the sick and seeing many healed, delivered of demons, freed from addictions, and given the hope of eternal life to eliminate the fear of death. Jesus saves the entire person, and the kingdom is expanded through the preaching of the gospel and the demonstration of its power.
We believe God created humanity in his image so we could have close fellowship with him and face-to-face intimacy. God desires that every man and woman know who he is and experience his Holy Spirit. The believer knows an experiential reality of God's presence and has fellowship and communion with God.
We believe that Jesus, as the second person of the Trinity, is God, who became a man (the Incarnation), was born of a virgin, was sinless, performed healings and miracles, suffered, and died for the sins of humanity. After his death, Jesus was raised to life and ascended to sit at the Father's right hand. He will return in glory after an unknown period of time and consummate the kingdom of God in fullness. At that time, the dead will all be raised for the Great White Throne judgment, where believers will be rewarded, and unbelievers who do not have the Holy Spirit that brings eternal life will not receive eternal life.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the "God-breathed" Word, the absolute and final authority for faith and Christian praxis.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is given to the believer upon salvation and that, on rare occasions, the believer can also be empowered by the baptism of the Holy Spirit at that time. However, Scripture and church history reveal that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is usually subsequent to conversion. Whether at conversion or subsequent to conversion all believers should pursue the baptism of the Holy Spirit and seek to operate in his giftings. The gift of tongues is an excellent gift of the Holy Spirit, and it is a sign of the baptism, but it is not the sign. The gifts of the Spirit are supernatural graceletes, or workings of his presence and power through the individual to accomplish his good and pleasing will.
We believe in justification by faith because of the atoning work of Jesus on the Cross. Anyone who repents of their sins and seeks to know Jesus by his Spirit will pass from death to life and at that point becomes a child of God and family member of the universal church of Christ.
We believe that God is a good and loving Father. He pursues humanity and gives love and kindness to everyone on the planet. At the moment of salvation an unbelievers eyes are opened to know the One who has loved and taken care of them their whole life.
We are a fledgling but growing group. We believe in cell churches or small home groups that worship and believe together. Cell churches promote close relationships and help the church grow in unity.
At Gateway Church Canmore, we believe in salvation by faith alone, in Christ alone, and the power of the Holy Spirit. See our "What We Believe" section for more.
We are proud to be active and engaged members of the Bow Valley community. Some of us come from Ghost Lake, others from Banff and Canmore, and still others from Calgary. Wherever we are from, we unite in Jesus our Lord and the ecumenicism of his Spirit.
My passion is to see the church walking in the understanding of who they are in Christ. This involves personal communication with the Lord, hearing his voice, walking in his ways, and having fellowship in his Spirit.
As a graduate of Global Awakening Theological Seminary (GATS), Genevieve is committed to serving the church so that they will partner with the Holy Spirit to the best of their ability.
I seek to help everyone know how to hear God's voice, operate in the gifts, and partner with the Holy Spirit in the ministry of healing the sick, especially through the 5-Step prayer model. Deliverance ministry and Inner Healing are also part of my passion for equipping.
Genevieve has been used to train and equip ministry teams for churches in Alberta. If you want a well-equipped ministry team to pray for others, please complete the form below.
Our Gateway Church Canmore is growing. As it does, Genevieve is pursuing her ThD at GATS and serves the seminary as the teaching assistant to Dr. Randy Clark. Helping students grow in the Word and the Spirit and in academia is all I want to do in life, and as such, I hope to be a GATS professor once I have my doctorate in theology. I also work in the town of Canmore and am a registered nurse.
If you are interested in inviting Genevieve to your church, please fill out the information request and we will get back to you soon.
